The past month has been full of extra busy-ness and challenges related to Ezra’s torticollis and plagiocephaly diagnosis (more details in another blog post). BUT amidst the chaos, we have also of course really enjoyed getting to know this little guy’s sweet and joyful personality even more. The best word we can find to describe him is jolly which is fun and fitting for this time of year. 🙂
Here are some updates on Ezra….
Size: I don’t know how much he weighs but he is in all 6-9 month, or 9 month clothes. Seems crazy to me, and part of it is because its cold enough to need long pants/long shirts and the 6 month sizes fit him but are too short on his long limbs. But still, crazy.
Sleeping: Right around when he hit 12 weeks, he started sleeping through the night! Like all the way, from 10pm until 6 or 7am. I am incredibly blessed and thankful for this sleeping baby!!!!! Only issue we have here is that he does wake up and cry a few times wanting his pacifier, so we’ll have to decide what to do about that soon, but for now its ok. It only takes a second to pop it back in his mouth so its not too bad yet. Also, just for recording purposes, we are still swaddling him at naps/night but noticing that he’s getting pretty good and busting his right arm out. We’ll have to wean from the swaddle blanket soon most likely.
Eating: Usually every 2-3 hours, but his schedule is pretty unpredictable right now due to all of the recent dr. appointments that force us to change up our days so much. Most often, he eats around 7am, 10am, 1 or 2pm, 4 or 5pm and then 7-8ish, with another “dreamfeed” often around 10ish.
What he’s up to:
-He really enjoys looking at new toys (stuffed animals usually), and grabbing at them to put in his mouth.
-He loves to hold fingers/hands
-Enjoys watching the tv (oops)
-Recognizes our voices and watches/follows us with his eyes around the room
-Smiles big and jolly especially when you first greet him
-Loves it when someone sings to him
-Drinks a bottle super fast and is always happy to
-Loves to sleep in the Ergo
-Loves to be massaged with oil/lotion
-Goes to sleep pretty quickly by being held by someone rocking/patting his back
-Laughs when someone plays with him and moves their face close up to his. He laughs with a little squeak and then a cackle that sound similar to Violet’s infamous cackle. Ha!
He is a super sweet and content boy. We love you very much Ezra!
